Taxi

There are lots of taxis throughout the islands of Hong Kong except for some very remote areas. These taxis could be hired along the road or via phone call. All taxis are air-conditioned.

There are three main types of taxi cab in Hong Kong: red, green and blue. Each color represents the geographical area with which the taxi cab operates. Any of these types can travel from and to the HK International Airport and Disneyland Hong Kong.

Fares vary depends on the type of the taxi that you hire.

Learn More About Buddha in Ngong Ping, Hong Kong

GETTING THERE

From HK International Airport:

1. Ride the S1 bus going to Tung Chung Station. (30 – 35 min, $3.50)

2. From the Tung Chung Bus Station, walk to the Tung Chung Cable Car Terminal.

3. Ride the Cable Car and alight at Ngong Ping. **

From Tsim Sha Tsui MTR Station

1. Ride the train going to Tsuen Wan direction and alight at Lai King.

2. Use the interchange at Lai King Platform 3 to ride the train going to Tung Chung. Alight at Tung Chung Station. (40 mins, $18 using single journey / $15.8 using Octopus)

3. Ride the Cable Car and alight at Ngong Ping. **

** Alternative route going to Ngong Ping: ride the New Lantau Bus Number 23 at Tung Chung Crescent Park Bus Terminal. Note that the bus ride is approximately 40 minutes longer than the cable car ride and Bus 23 is available every 30 minutes.

TICKETS AND DISCOUNTS

There are no entrance fees in Ngong Ping, Po Lin Monastery and Tian Tian Buddha. However, some attractions are not free such as the NP360 Cable Car, Motion 360, Stage 360 and Walking with Buddha.

Roundtrip ticket for Standard Cabin costs $150 while a roundtrip for Crystal Cabin costs $235. Mixed of Standard and Crystal costs $210. For more details on the tickets and packages price, visit NP360 site.

You may also purchase discounted NP360 tickets at the China Travel Services (CTS) in HK International Airport. Also available in CTS are tickets in Disneyland HK, Ocean Park, The Peak (plus Madame Tussauds and Sky Terrace 428), Prepaid Sim Card, etc.

GETTING THERE

From Central/Tsim Sha Tsui:

1a. If coming from Tsim Sha Tsui, ride the MTR train going to Central direction at Tsim Sha Tsui station. Alight from the train at Admiralty Station. ($9.50 on single journey / $9.00 using octopus, 5 minutes).

1b. If coming from Central, ride either the Tsuen Wan Line train going to Tsuen Wan direction or Island Line train going to Chai Wan. Alight from the train at Admiralty Station. ($4.5 on single journey / $4.2 using octopus, 3 minutes)

2. Follow the directions in the MTR station leading to Ocean Park bus station (also known as Admiralty West Bus Station).

3. Ride Route 629 going to Ocean Park.  ($10.60, 25 to 30 minutes).

From HK International Airport:

1. Ride the S1 bus going to Tung Chung Station. (30 – 35 min, $3.50) ***

2. From the Tung Chung Bus Station, go to  Tung Chung MTR station by passing through Citygate Mall. ***

3. Ride MTR and alight from the train at Hong Kong Station. ($24.00 using single journey / $21.00 using octopus, 30 minutes) ***

4. From Hong Kong Station, use the subway to go to Central Station.

5. Follow the directions above going to Ocean Park coming from Central.

*** Alternative route going to Hong Kong Station from the airport: Ride the Airport Express. ($100 either on single journey or octopus, 25 minutes)

Standard Day Tickets for adults cost $320 each. ($160 each for kids)

From HK International Airport:

1. Ride the S1 bus going to Tung Chung Station. (30 – 35 min, $3.50)

2. From the Tung Chung Bus Station, go to  Tung Chung MTR station by passing through Citygate Mall.

4. The Disneyland Resort train is on the other side of the station. Cross the railway using the overpass.

5. Ride the train and alight at the entrance arc of Disneyland Hong Kong. (total of 18 – 20 min from Tung Chung MTR, $14.5 single / $13.3 using octopus)
